LOL. after school on Fri, I went on a school trip to the ACM for the Kangxi Exhibition. Lotsa pple went, but guess they are really just going for the cultural points. In case you’re wondering, Im not one of them. hey really! So, sadly, had to miss the CECC meeting. Sry bout that, know you guys had quite a lot to discuss bout. Ok, so the trip went quite ok. Didn’t meet Kangxi in person, but still got to learn quite a lot bout him. Lol. thanks to teachers’ explanations and also a lot of self-reading and inference! Hes deemed as one of the most capable emperors of China, and hes skilled in many areas: management, PR, warfare, maths, sciences, Chinese LA, horse-riding, archery… wish I was as talented as he was. The artifacts there were quite exquisite, and some were amazingly beyond their times. For example the trigonometric wooden blocks, which was from the west. Many pple in school are dreading over trigo, and this guy specially ordered for the crafting of these high quality trigo cuboid-like things for his own learning and discovery. See the difference? So after the whole thing, I took a short walk to the MRT station with the 4Q guys. Lol, crapped on the way there. Went straight home to do some homework, and started practicing on my script a bit.

Cos yesterday morning was the HSSRP symposium! Reached NUS early, and so did Shayne, so we sat at the canteen to rest a while. Haha, saw Martin and Zhiyuan there. He was there for some NUS Geog race thing. Haha, hope they did well! Helped out with the setting up, carrying of booklets and stuff for the organizers… and it started very soon. Although I thought the organization could be improved (eg. Some pple had to sit on the floor and there was messy sitting arrangements. ><). We randomly found some seats. Argh, didn’t get to see moses emcee. Next was the GOH, opening addresses and presentation of certs. Haha looks like our hard work last year paid off with a merit! Which is the upper range, so =D. after that, were the presentations! Haha, yes they were absolutely marvo! A grp from RG presented first, followed by RI and NY. Haiz, junyang wasn’t available today! Hes supposedly the best presenter for ri’s grp, so their grp didn’t do as well. But still, It was reasonably good. Haha, the video clips shown by the NY pple were dam funny. “You people can’t fight here, this is the war room!” lol.

Before the tea break, we had our grp photo taken. 3 shots! 1 to the head, 1 to the body, and 1 to the limbs. Miraculously, every one of us stayed alive and kicking. (ignore the last 2 sentences pls.) Didn’t get to eat during the break cos of the crowd, and a little teeny bit of anxiety. Lol. we drank a cup of barley each and got to the presentation room. Haha first to reach! Jack was subsession emcee, so it was quite cool. XD Jrs arrived soon, and at 11 sharp, pple started streaming in. A HCI guy presented first, on dialects, and he seemed quite passionate about it lol, then our grp. Xp Shayne started off ok, then I messed up a little.
ARGHARGHARGHARGHARGH. How could I la. I’ve got the whole script in my head already. I’ve presented quite a lot of times. But I spoke too quickly, and forgot the point at a point of time. (Lol.) Argh, shouldn’t have committed this kinda low level mistakes, especially when it’s the final symposium. Sry guys, I’ll work on this. Jack was quite stable, and ended off quite well. haha thanks for the save! Ok, then it was Alasdair’s turn. Haha he was doing on some chim topic related to philo perspectives on sciences or smthg like that. Hes knowledgeable. Then the final presentation was by NY, but they seemed to have graduated already. So its HCI. Theirs, on consumption behavior of youths, was good, just that their presentation methods were a little less captivating. So everything ended, and everyone was allowed to leave. We stayed a little longer for the (fake) photo shoot. After, was the long journey home with Jack and Jeson. Enjoyable day. =D
