on Tuesday, there was prefects’ investiture. but I was down with a bad flu and sorethroat on that day, so I wasn’t in the best condition to watch the proceding. we all had to go to the hall during the assembly period. I’d say that we were quite fortunate, cos the sec 1s and the people with third lang had to watch the investiture in the LT, on the screen, which is a lot a lot a lot more boring than watching the real thing. They had to watch it at the LT because there wasn’t enough space for them. The staff, parents, guests etc. took their space. My flu didnt make me feel very well, so I was stuck to my seat the whole time like a couch chairpotato. the investiture started really abruptly as they were behind time. after the staff, GOH etc had entered, it was the prefects’ turn. the way they entered was similar to last year’s, with the entering, pacing, getting on stage, and pose! precedures. lol. then it was the speeches, and the handing of certificates to the newly elected prefects. followed by the prefects' pledge and Head Boy Master Thia’s sacred speech. haha. the prefects’ investiture was ended with a “special performance”, which I thought wasn’t much of a success. sry. but I applaud you guys for continuing to sing when there were technical problems. =D and lastly, we had our institution anthem and the unite cheer! just that I thought we didnt cheer clear enough and heard some people (schoolmates) doing the rg version of the unite cheer by screaming at the end of the lines. lol. (funny but not good to do so when there are guests) then we all exited the hall, leaving behind our footprints, and for some, their heartprints(the theme). lol.
after leaving the hall, I went to the reception area. lol. cos Charmaine said that she would be attending. haha, saw her there, in the blazer, but didn’t talk much cos: 1) couldn’t speak properly cos of sorethroat 2) didn’t want to spread the flu bug 3) she had to go for the school tour thing.
haha, this is the third prefects’ investiture I hav attended in RI! and I thought the previous years’ ones were better. (sry, to those who worked really hard in planning) in atmosphere, the special performance, logistics etc. but this was still a success la. good job.
After that whole thing, I went straight home with Jack. On the way home, I nearly fainted. felt weak and vision was a little blurry. So I found a bench and sat down. I rested and drank some water. after I felt better, Jack helped me and we got home quickly. Thanks, Jack! =D

on wed, I went to RI in the morning, and collected oranges at the atrium for my form teacher. during morning assembly, I stood up, with other monitors, and presented oranges to our respective form teachers. Wa, it was so weird la, standing up in the middle of an announcement and people + I had to use mandarin to speak to her cos its chinese new year and im supposed to say some greetings/ blessings to her. (I usually speak English to her!) and then we proceeded to the hall, for the performances. The performances were quite good. There was performance by RICO, RV, PRC scholars, some S-Pop guy, and TEACHERS! Teachers’ performances were the best lar. There was some chinese dance, where our year head(male) and our deputy headmaster(male) performed with ribbons and fans! omg, it was dam funny! but I liked it a lot. =D also, there was a fashion show done by the teachers too! they had a lot of different costumes… and the male teachers had masks on. we were supposed to guess the teachers. and as expected, we were good and got all of them in one guess. X) omg, it was entertaining. Then, the RI pple from rosyth gathered near the hall, and we took a bus to rosyth.
at rosyth, we saw this huge banner, stating the achievements of 2005 and 2006. I was thinking: look at the difference between the two years. what has the new principal been doing? i didn’t (want to) care much bout that, and walked into Rosyth. I saw lots of familiar faces (of staff, students and ex-students). =D Instead of going to the ibc, we went to the statue area. we gathered with other classmates and waited for mrs Ng. She came and talked to us… and we took photos. Then, we went up to the canteen to… err stone… and talk. I know stones don’t talk, but… nvm. then I saw this group of students playing soccer at the parade square. many were from ri, and they were playing in school uniform. so Weixuan and Kenneth and I decided to go and ‘book’ them. lol. we had nothing much to do, so we chatted and left when mr Singh came.
after that, Jack, Darren, WanJing, Delwyn, Weixuan, Kenneth, Simin, Shuren, Ray, Yeeshing and I (eh, I think there’s someone else…) went to amk hub for lunch. we strolled around and settled for pepper lunch. it was my first time there. we talked and ate and then went home shortly after.
Wee... It was so nice to see all of you! =D

wooty. the first month of the year is over. =)
many things happened in this one month. like tests. homework. assignments. and getting used to wearing long pants. (Haha, Darren!) also, i got this chance to get into the CEC (class executive committee). i've never had a chance like this before in ri. so i'll treasure this. last tuesday was the investiture, and i got the badge - green one! this year's badge looks nicer than last years! lol. but of course wearing the badge, also means taking up many more responsibilities. so i've been busier, doing my own work, solving class issues, attending meetings etc. =p. luckily, i've got the help of the other CEC, Brandon - black badge (he's from rosyth too). he has helped me with many things and i wanna thank him =D. While Shaun - white badge, the last CEC in our class, hasnt been doing much, except for collecting a little $ for the class treasury. Shaun, you better put in more effort! I really look forward to working with 3R this year!
