Omg.

Looks like DMPs have a 'good' amount of homework too. Geog presentation with ppt of about 30-60 slides? Report of 500 words? In 4 days? ok... thats similar to completing a whole year's RE in a few days. History's slightly more manageable, but still not not easy. I shall encourage myself. Jim, WORK HARDER! ><

Also, Happy Birthday, Chloe! Hope your wishes come true! =D

DMPs are fun, and it’s true.

For those who aren’t too sure what DMPs are, DMP is a programme of about 2 and a half weeks, when you basically choose what lessons you want to attend. You sign up for what you want, but have to meet a certain amount of hours. There is a good variety of lessons, from nanotechnology, to metaethics, social theories, drum course, pop singing, dissecting frogs, cooking and so on.
And I’m enjoying DMPs a whole lot. I think its because of the doing away of the STRESS factor. Like, you go for lessons to learn what you are interested in, passionate about, and not just so that you can ace the exams. Haha, it seems like many others are enjoying theirs too.

Anyway, I filled my DMP timetable up, fully. I took 1 SS, 2 Maths, 1 Philo, 2 Geog, and 1 Hist module. Lol, no sciences. Cos the science modules that interested me already got filled up. -_- Maybe I’ll try getting them next year. Haha, the modules are really fun (and meaningful). Like in the history module, we got to play SPORE! Omgomgomg. Its like how new, and the school/teachers got them for us? ^^ Other games also included Civ, and RoN. And Mr Koh even promised us at least 6 hours of gaming, so that we could learn about, and experience, the social and historical theories in depth. Cool. I liked the math modules too. One was bout logical thinking, and the other, on financial management things. Haha, like you see a sign saying “Please ignore this sign”. And what do you call that? Lol. For some modules, there are also field trips. For mine, I’ve got 3 – Cemetery, Halfway house, and Biscuit factory. Lol, should be quite interesting. I found some of these skills and knowledge to be very practical and useful, so I believe they’ll last for a lifetime. =D Ok, so one week’s up, another one and a half to go.

However, beneath the many happy faces, you’ll also find glum ones. DMP is also the time for mugging of the EOYs. EOYs… =(

Wa… it’s the holidays and we still have all the hw and assignments to deal with!!!

Ok, maybe its expected.

Yesterday, reached RJ early in the morning for training. Haha, coming to think of it, training’s gotten more manageable for me. =) Now, I get less muscle aches and know more people (which really helps to make training fun, especially when training gets boring/tiring). After training, I got home for lunch, and did some work. Then rested for like 10 mins, before setting off for project work at WD’s house.

I met YH at Kovan, and we walked to WD’s house together. Lol, had lotsa fun being lame on the way there. Unfortunately, it started raining (it wasn’t because of the rain trees!) when we were about halfway there. But fortunately, I happened to have an umbrella then, and we rescued ourselves. Haha, haven’t seen his family for so long already (we met on a holiday trip a few years ago)! So we got to work and breezed through the whole first part of the SS project. But then came the second. wth… a video?! We fiddled around with windows movie maker, and made a small part, before finding that the software’s specialty, wasn’t in the area of the assignment… we had to change. Couldn’t find another software then, so we decided to wait for the interviewee to arrive and then get more out of him, to aid in our assignment. Lol, played comp games. (O.O) WD didn’t look like a gaming pro, but he was. Learnt some skills from him while playing some FPS and strategic/tactical games. =D haha, while we were playing, his sis came in and I thought she was quite good too.

Then the interviewee we were patiently (lol) waiting for, came. Haha, his dad! We talked a lot, and I thought the whole conversation was really interesting. We even talked through dinner. We got what we wanted and started adding more stuff into the report. We didn’t know how to complete the video, so I decided to figure it out another day, at home. Continued with games, since YH was so enthusiastic bout it. It was really cool (both literally and figuratively) playing good games on a rainy evening. Soon our parents came, and home we went.
