I went for the NPCC service day yesterday. The whole RINPCC had to go to the neighbouring flats to educate the public on crime prevention. It was quite fun, walking from storey to storey, knocking on doors, speaking to the residents... and drinking a "gulp" from 7-11 after the activity.(of course i paid for it, no sponsors...) The main topics we had to talk about were: house breaking, robbery in homes, robbery in lifts/streets, snatch theft, motor vehicle theft, outrage of modesty, handphone theft, guarding against terrorism and road safety. We only spoke on one subject to every household, so we didnt speak on all the subjects. There are four members in my group, they include three sec 1s and a sec 4. lol. But i hav to say, the sec 4 guy treated us well. There was once when it was our seniors turn to speak, and he got to a chinese-speaking household. The good thing was the person was willing to listen to us. The bad thing was, our senior's chinese sucked. lol. So, he ask if any of us could speak chinese well. *silence* nobody volunteered. After about a minute (we were sry to let the person wait), one of my groupmates started to speak, and i was like... wow. His chinese was excellent (cause he's from china). After he ended, our senior praised him. It was good to hav him in my group, lol. So, from that household onwards, it was either him or I who spoke to the chinese-speaking households. There were also some cases when they spoke languages we didnt know... so we just said thank you and we left (what else can we do?).
We also got a NPCC police whistle and a crime prevention booklet, which we used for explaining to the residents (we will also be getting smthg else, but it isnt ready yet and i dunno wat it is). We finished early, so we went back early. You would think: yay! But that is not what i tought. We went back to write our reflections... =( had to write reflections of at least a page... but i just wrote sort of... rubbish (messy and insensible).
okok... enough about my npcc thingys for now. MARCH HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!!! YAY!!! So hows everything going? is the date, meeting place... blahblah... of the class gathering finalised? If so, pls inform me about it. Thank you. hope to see lots of 601 ians at the gathering!
