Whee. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR, EVERYONE! ^^
Chinese New Year had been really fun!

On 除夕,we gathered at our aunt’s house with my Dad’s side of the family. And I got to see lotsa my uncles, aunts and cousins! Was extremely =D. especially when I saw my third aunt’s family, cos I haven’t seen them for several years! (they’re staying in US). haha, got my first sight of my new cousin! he’s dam cute! X) Lol, everyone randomly went to watch 歌台 for a while. Chatted during and after the steamboat. Everyone seemed to be doing very well and I thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable, warm amosphere.

At night, we left for the gathering at our m. grandma’s house. haha, as usual, it was crowded with people. some of whom I don’t know. went to greet everyone and then the rehearsals started. so all the cousins got together and rehearsed the skit we came up with. Lol. it was dam funny. Jack and I played the bad guys, who had dao faces and stylish moustache. XD After countdown, we did the skit and it was quite good. After more celebration and wishes, everyone headed home to rest.

初一 started with us going to granny’s cos it was the nearest. Then we went on to many other people’s houses to 拜年. ended up at at granny’s again. we had dinner, and more fun doing lotsa things with cousins. haha, there was karaoke, mahjong, cards, food... Jack and I teamed and busied ourselves with epic card games which were dam fun.

初二 started late for us. cos we woke up late. ok maybe only sis. XP We went off to more relatives’ houses which is again, exciting. =D haha then in the afternoon, Jack, sis and I met up with some of the cousins, about 15-20 of us, and we went to catch a movie after starbucks. went to watch a bollywood movie called chandi chowk to china. haha, highly entertaining! the whole movie was cool cos it had a mix of chinese kungfu film elements, bollywood film dancing, songs and dialogues, and also hollywood-like plots. Haha the characters were funny too. Some pple might find the movie slightly crappy though. Another surprising thing was the intermission, which was really smthg new for me. Cos movies usually last whole 2 hours with no breaks. this one was about 2 and a half, with a short break. The intermission reduced the movie drag, so it was quite good. I found the movie quite worth it. Then we all went to granny’s for dinner and more celebration. After all the fun, it was home. bleh, that made me feel gloom. cos it kept reminding me of school.

Why had CNY been so amazingly SHORT?! (it’s not cos I used abbreviations) =(

However, I’m still extremely glad that there’s such an occasion every year that allows me to meet lotsa family pple and have fun together! Hope I don’t get sick and unhealthy after all the eating and slacking though.
