There isnt any school today, as it is staff training day. and it will be till thursday! =D however, the teachers also called this "e-learning week", and thus, all subject teachers sent us assignments to complete (and they are not easy) at home.
Because of this, I had the opportunity to see sis off at the airport. she, after having her vacation, is leaving for US for internship, as part of her uni programme. So, mum, Jack and I accompanied her to the airport in the morning (Haha, it was also my first time stepping into terminal 3). After checking the luggage in, we went to eat a little, while waiting for the flight. we talked a lot, making good use of the time left before she left. Then, she had to depart. We gave her our blessings, and bid her farewell, and watched as she went through the customs into the departure hall. Bye, sis! Enjoy yourself!

After seeing sis off, Jack and I went back home. We did some hw, watched a little anime, had lunch, and then headed to school for the Interclass Soccer league. didnt do much there, cause Jack and I arent exactly into soccer. But we went to support our classes, nevertheless. It was good for Jack, cos many pple from his class was there. For me, I only saw 4 classmates, + 1 who came later. -_-. I told the whole class to go support our class!!! nvm, 3R better turn up tmr.
I watched quite a lot of soccer matches. I find my batchmates dam pro lar. was really impressed at how they play. It would be a miracle if I can header a ball without getting any brain damage. wait, I cant even kick a ball properly. =p
Ok, as I was waiting for my class' match, something struck from above, and everyone ran away in all directions, screaming. was it a bomb? a bird? a ball?
no, it was rain. + sry, there were some errors. Most people [not everyone] ran to the canteen [not in all directions] for shelter, in a calm manner [definitely not screaming]. Some of them were still playing in the rain.
we waited for the rain to stop, but it just got heavier. maybe thats because no one sang, "rain, rain go away, come again another day". lol. after a while, the committee decided to postpone the matches to tmr. sad. I thanked classmates who came to do a part for the class, and also apologised for the unseen circumstance. After that, I went home, while Jack went to j8 to eat with his classmates.

3R, you guys better turn up tmr!

Today's RI community day, a special day in RI's 08 calendar of events. It is part of our 185th anniversary celebrations this year. So, I went for CIP with the track and field, and X-country team. All of us had to wear the anniversary tee, which was green, black and white (as usual). We were allocated to a few different primary schools, and had to hav some activities with some children there. I was allocated to Chong Zheng primary (i think) at the tampines area. It was only when we reached, that I, and many others, found out that we were working with children with slight behavioral problems. It was perfectly ok, though. =D

Their school is bright, colourful and cheerful, with lots of paintings and plants. After lunch and some waiting, we finally saw the children, and they were running all around the basketball court. we had to settle them down, and then get things going. it was fairly difficult, and we started everything off with a basketball match instead of the original plan. we scrapped all our plans from the start, and did watever felt right. some of the children are rowdy, and thus, there were some slight injuries, even when everything just started. after playing for a while, I was called by our teacher, to interact with some of them who didnt want to play baketball. So, a facilitator, Jack, ZiYang, JunYang and I brought them to another room, to have a seperate set of activites. We had to think on our feet(figuratively) about what activites we could hav for them.

We started with self introduction, as usual. It was from this introduction, that we got to know these children, and that they got to know us. Also, from this, we saw their personalities and behaviors. Some were attention-seeking and some were extremely shy etc. Throughout the activities, I tried to get those shy ones to participate more, and those more attention seeking ones to give others chances etc. we played some games like hangman and jenga with them, which I really hope they enjoyed. Not long after we started, we had to leave. So, we packed everything up in the room, and got to the assembling area, with the children and facilitators. we took a group photo. We then thanked everyone there, the facilitators, teachers and the children. and we left the school.

I really enjoyed myself on this visit, especially interacting with the children. The children might hav slight behavioral problems, but I believe that, if they exercise discipline, hav some self-confidence and develop the right way, they will surely overcome the challenges, and journey into the bright future ahead of them. I might want to participate in more of these activities next time. Furthermore, I got to know more of my ccamates (from other sections), through all the activities and chatting. =D

A scene of us before leaving, and you can take a look at our T-shirts.

On Tuesday, I, together with my class, went down to Kallang Tennis Centre to watch our school's tennis team play against ACSI in the finals. We watched all the matches standing up, as we couldnt see anthing if we sat on the bench. Haha, was quite happy, cause I finally got a chance to see Yuho play, live! The class and I supported and cheered for him throughout his match, which he played very well. He was pro lar. After watching his match, we also went to watch others play. They played their hearts out, and we enjoyed every second of their matches. =D The finals ended with us triumphing, 3-2! I found it extremely pleasant to see everyone in high spirits, espcially the tennis team! After their hardcore training and excellent matches, they really deserved the Champion trophy!

Yuho is on the left. lol.

Yesterday, I went to school for physics extra lesson. I missed the bus, and was rushing to the physics lab, getting mentally ready for a scolding and some criticisms (by the teacher and 31 classmates). but it didn’t turn out that way. when I reached, there were only 2 pple there. lol. py and shaun, prefect and cec respectively. so I joined them in waiting for the teacher (or in playing psp). Ms Huang came, and got us into the lab. she said she was late cos she had to get some filming equipment ready. we turned around, and saw this pro-looking camcorder. then this lab staff came in and started recording. all (or 3) of us were like “omg”. we felt a little uneasy, but got better as the lesson went on. the lesson felt so much different from usual lessons, without the disruptions. after that, the three of us decided to go to the library, since py had to wait for his mentor, and shaun likes wasting time and dislikes going home early. I, had a little time to spare, so I stayed for a while. lol, we played psp on the sofa in the library (I think its allowed, I think), while the librarians are having a library camp or something.

Today, went to school for cca with Jack. arg, I haven’t trained for sometime, and so I found some simple drills a little more difficult. =( then, we started throwing. the coach got us to keep throwing. I think he wants us to remember the basics and practise. A few seniors got scolded, cos they didn’t do the basics properly, I think. it was quite sad, cos the coach seldom scolds us. but in the end, all of us, managed to correct the faults, and could do a lot better. (just that we had little strength left) after completing some other exercises, we left. I left for home, while Jack had to go for a chemistry course at ngee ann poly.

wow, look at how time flies. it has no flappy wings, no large jetpacks, no antigravity tools, no nothing. but it still flies fast. holidays are almost over, and Im just beginning to feel the starting part of the first day of the holidays. wth. I think that’s because about half of my holidays are spent in m’sia. so now, im left with a few more days, for me to complete my hw and, to enjoy… pfft.

On sat, I went for an environmental camp (CONduce camp) at Nan Hua sec. after a long journey, jack and I met Meng Siew at their canteen. Saw him playing psp, so we played as well. Then we had our breakfast, and we got into our groups. I was in group 5, and had Judith as my facilitator. Had lots of ‘interesting’ icebreakers, and got to know my groupmates and pple from group 6, a partner group with Huiqin as their faci. While learning about the environment, we had some fun with games and stuff. Later, we went into their nice auditorium and watched the oh-so-famous Al Gore documentary on global warming, which I had watched last year, when we were having the future problem solving talk. Lol. We then had a short presentation on environmental stuff by the SMU pple, (I think) and we had to answer questions too. I preferred the documentary. The QnA session of the presentation was bad. she didn’t choose fairly, and some questions were giveaways. Then we went for lunch. Lunch food was quite sumptuous, and I thought it was quite tasty. After eating and chatting for a while, we went on to play the mass games, which consisted of many stations, and we had to visit all of them. My group didn’t do well for almost all of the games. There were stations where we played games in the dark, had to do a treasure hunt thing, and lots of funny things. (I even did the totally tough tongue twister ten times!) But they sorta related all the games to the environment, with a lot of environmental facts to know and activities to do, so I guess it was good. We then had a group debrief, and a camp debrief, which was when we got our prize… for being the second highest scoring group! lol. We didn’t expect that, and were stoning when the person announced the results! we lagged, and only got onto the stage after 10seconds of stoning. we took a photo, and went down to distribute the prizes. lol. had lots of snacks. chocs, biscuits, crackers etc. lastly, we took a camp photo, and then left for home.
Wee, had quite some fun there. although I didn’t learn THAT much, I still enjoyed myself, as I could interact with lots of people, and I made some friends. =D

omg, i dont think i will hav time to change my blogskin... Xp

it's last day of school.
but what's with the projects... =(

On Wed, i had to go meet my NUS mentor, with Jack and Shayne for our research education project. We got there late (cos we couldnt find the faculty in that giant campus -_-), but luckily he didnt blame us. It was our first time meeting him, as he couldnt make it to the mentor's tea the previous time. so we went to his office and discussed A LOT on our topic, and how to go about completing it. (which isnt easy) after about 1.5 hours, we thanked him, and wandered around NUS, looking for an exit. we found the exit finally, and took a bus out of the campus. then it was a long way home.
on the same day, my class was chosen to go for tennis match support. and i was really looking forward to it because Yuho's playing. (wah, i cant believe that i havent ever seen him play a single match) but since i had to go for the mentor meeting, i didnt get to watch him play.
but others too. lol. it rained that day, and the match was postponed. to thurs.
so the next day, we were about to go to the tennis centre (again, for some pple). so many of them werent very happy. then, it rained again. lol. the match was then postponed to term 2. argh, i'll have to wait till term 2, i guess.
Yuho, everyone's waiting so long for your match, so you better do a good job! =D

Last weekend, jack, my sis and I went to watch L change the world.
although I thought this movie wasn’t as exciting as the last two, I still found it good. well, he cant be too smart in this movie, or else it’ll be over even before it begins. This death note spinoff, placed the spotlight on L, and mainly what he did in his last 23 days of his life. (cos the deathnote can only exercise control on a person’s life for up to 23 days) This time, it was directed by another director, so there were a few scenes that were slightly exaggerated. (I think the director has done lotsa movies of ‘thriller’ or ‘horror’ genre.) This movie talks about L trying to solve this case about viruses and people within 23 days. And two children are the key to the case. There are many scenes in this movie that I really thought was worth watching, like when L stood up straight for the first time! lol, his back had the cracking sound and he went back to his slouching position, so the scene didn’t last very long. but, he’s definitely >1.8! We got the L chocolate! it was so nice that we couldn’t get ourselves to open the plastic cover.
death note rocks!
